DHAKA, Nov 16, 2022 (BSS) - A contract was signed today in order to appoint consultants for a coach and wagon repair factory located in Rajbari district.
 
Project director of Bangladesh Railway (BR) Kudrot-e-Khuda and managing director (South Asia) of SYSTRA, one of the world's leading engineering and consulting groups specialised in public transport and mobility solutions, Hari Somalraju signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides at Rail Bhaban here, said a handout of Press Information Department.
 
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, who was present on the occasion, said it will be easy to repair all the coaches and wagons to be included in the fleet of Bangladesh Railways.
 
"Better rail communication will be established between Rajbari and other parts of the country since the railway has been connected to the Padma Bridge," Sujon said.
 
Secretary of Ministry of Railways Dr Md Humayun Kabir, Director General of Bangladesh Railways Dhirendranath Majumdar and senior officials of Railway Ministry as well as Bangladesh Railways were also present.
