DHAKA, Dec 01, 2022 (BSS) - Mahbub Ali Khan and GM Sahabuddin Azam have been elected as president and general secretary respectively of Gopalganj district unit of Awami League in the triennial conference of the unit today.

Awami League presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP, announced the names of the new committee at the second session of the conference.

He also announced the names of AL's Gopalganj sadar upazila unit committee and Gopalganj poura Awami League committee.

Kazi Liakat Ali Leku and Abu Siddique Sikder have been elected as president and general secretary of Gopalganj sadar upazila unit of Awami League while Golam Kabir and Alimuzzaman Bitu have been elected as president and general secretary of Gopalganj poura unit of Awami League.

Earlier, Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the triennial conference at Poura park of Gopalganj. Sheikh Helal, MP, attended the event as guest of honour while AL organizing secretary Mirza Azam, MP as the key speaker.

AL joint secretary and education minister Dr Dipu Moni, organizing secretary SM Kamal Hossain, deputy office secretary Sayem Khan and Nargis Rahman,MP, among others, were present at the conference.

Gopalganj district unit AL president Chowdhury Emdadul Haque chaired the conference while general secretary Mahbub Ali Khan conducted it.
