Dhaka, Dec 9, 2022 (BSS) – The Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka today paid his tribute to late Group Captain (Retd) Shamsul Alam, Bir Uttom, the brave fighter of “Kilo Flight” - the Mukti Bahini combat aviation formation during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. 
 
On behalf of Indian high commissioner, a representative from the Indian mission here placed a wreath written - “Forever Missed, But Will Never Be Forgotten” at the coffin of Alam, who passed away in Dhaka on December 8 at the age of 74. 
 
Alam was among the numerous freedom fighters whose sacrifices, along with those of Indian soldiers who fought with them during the Liberation War of 1971,  continue to inspire and reinforce the close bonds of friendship and solidarity between India and Bangladesh, said the Indian high commission here.
