RANGPUR, Dec 12, 2022 (BSS) - The success achieved in building a technology-based digital nation, digitisation has brought enormous benefits accelerating the process of building a developed and smart Bangladesh by 2041 next.
 
The observation came today at a discussion organized by the district administration in association with the ICT Division at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in observance of the Digital Bangladesh Day-2022.
 
Earlier, a colorful rally with participation of officials and employees of the district administration and different government departments, political leaders, freedom fighters, teachers, civil society members and local elite was brought out on the city streets.
 
Parading from the Deputy Commissioner's office, the rally ended at Bangabandhu Square at the DC Mour opposite to the Zilla School premises in the city.
 
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen with high officials placed wreaths at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and released balloons marking the day.
 
Later, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Md. Abu Jafar attended the discussion as the chief guest with the Deputy Commissioner in the chair.
 
Deputy Director (Local Government) Zilufa Sultana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Firuzl Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin and Finance) Madhusudan Roy (promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police) and Rangpur Press Club President Mahabub Rahman spoke as special guests.
 
The discussion was followed by distribution of prizes among winners of different competitions arranged in two categories for the primary and secondary level students marking the day.
 
The speakers said successful digitisation has been accelerating development in every sector and making civic life easier and almost totally dependent on online digital services.
 
Mahabub Rahman said digitisation has become the driving force speeding up uplift transforming Bangladesh into a developing nation on the way to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
 
"Digitisation has brought enormous benefits to people of all walks of life alongside helping educational institutions to easily manage academic, administrative, attendance, examinations and results and accounts related activities at lowest costs," he said.
 
The chief guest said Bangladesh is swiftly achieving indexes of Sustainable Development Goals by virtue of digitisation to become a developed and smart country by 2041 when everything will be done efficiently through technology.
