Call for inspiring young generations in science-based education

     RANGPUR, March 14, 2022 (BSS) - Officials and experts at a discussion
today called for inspiring the young generations in science and technology-
based modern education to achieve sustainable progress in every sector on the
way to build a developed country.  

     They expressed their opinion in the discussion arranged at the inaugural
ceremony of the two-day district level Science and Technology Week and
Science Fair-2022 on the Public Library ground in the city.  

     The district administration is organizing the event under supervision of
National Science and Technology Museum and patronization of the Science and
Technology Ministry marking the 43rd National Science and Technology Week and
Science Fair-2022.

     Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahhab Bhuiyan launched the fair by
cutting a ribbon and releasing a balloon with festoon in the inaugural
ceremony and addressed the discussion as the chief guest.  

     Presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan, Principal of
Rangpur Carmichael College Professor Dr. Amjad Hossain, Head of the
Department of Physics of Begum Rokeya University Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman and
Rangpur Press Club President Mahabub Rahman addressed as special guests.

     Thirty secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions
from all over Rangpur district have set up 30 stalls on the fair premises
projecting diverse scientific projects, research activities and innovations
and ICT-based technologies.  

     The speakers stressed on spreading science- and technology- based modern
education among the young generations to prepare them for the fourth
industrial revolution to attain sustainable national development facing the
challenges of the 21st century.

      Dr. Kamruzzaman put importance on popularisation of science- and ICT-
based education to attain self-sufficiency in all spheres for attaining the
sustainable development goals by 2030 on the way to build a developed
Bangladesh by 2041.  

     The chief guest discussed different realistic steps taken by the
government to popularize science-, technology- and knowledge-based education
and skills among the young generations to speed up uplift for attaining
sustainable national development.
