DHAKA, Sept 10, 2020 (BSS) - The 9th session of Dhaka University National Model United Nations (DUNMUN) was held at Dhaka University campus with the theme "Endorsing Freedom through Consolidating Unified Effort towards Global Consonance".
The three-day long conference, organised by DU Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA) in collaboration with United Nations in Bangladesh, was held at Dhaka University's Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban from September 8 to September 10.
Over 500 students from home and abroad participated in the conference as delegates aimed at developing their diplomatic skills, presenting the correct view on a particular issue and raising the mindset of how to continue a political debate.
The conference starts off with committee sessions where the delegates discuss over different agendas around the globe and ended today with a closing ceremony which was attended by Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Birpratik as chief guest.
Country Representative of UNIDO in Bangladesh, Zaki Uz Zaman, Director General (DG) of Department of Women Affairs Farida Parveen and Communication Strategist and Ex-National Information Officer of United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Dr Md Moniruzzaman also addressed the closing session.
The theme of this year's conference represents the collaboration and negotiation of the whole world working together to endorse freedom.
Dhaka University National Model United Nations 2022 is a conference sketching the procedure of the United Nations General assembly where students from home and abroad can participate as delegates.
