DHAKA, Dec 22, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sent a central leader of
banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) to jail.

The accused is BCL central leader Md Muktadir Hossain Muktho.

Police produced Muktadir before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court
this morning. The Investigative Officer (IO) of the case pleaded to place him
on a 10-day remand in a case of attempt to murder by attacking the common
students of Dhaka University (DU).

Later, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehra Mahbub passed the order to send
him to jail as there was no original document of the case.

The court also fixed the date of hearing of remand on December 30.

Police arrested Muktho from Shahbagh area yesterday [Saturday].
