BNP supporters also joining election festivity: Hasan

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 2, 2024 (BSS) - Awami League Joint General Secretary and Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said BNP supporters are also joining election festivity as a festive mood is prevailing in the country centering the national polls.

"A festive mood is prevailing centering the forthcoming election. BNP supporters are also joining the festivity. Even they are joining the processions. They will go to voting centers to vote for 'Boat' on January 7," he said.
 
The ruling party leader said this while addressing a public rally at Ranirhat Bazar circle in Ranguniya upazila of the district organised by AL Razanagar and Islampur unions units with AL Razanagar union unit president Freedom Fighter Abu Syed Talukder in the chair.
 
Dr Hasan, also AL candidate of Chattogram-7 constituency, said a number of development work has taken place in every sector across the country including in the upazila during the present government tenure. It has been possible due the magical leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added.
 
He said, "After being elected in 2008, I promised that I will develop the Ranguniya upazila. I first worked on the development of the DC road from Mariamnagar to Ranirhat. Bagabilly Bridge was constructed at first. Many BNP leaders were here and they are still here. The road in front of their house is paved first. Later, I developed developed South Rangunia. But the road in front of my house is still the same as it was 20 years ago."
 
AL leaders mayor Shahjahan Sikder, Kamrul Islam Chowdhury, Nazrul Islam Talukder, Krishak League North district unit president Shafiqul Islam, AL Chattogram city unit leader Dr Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury, AL Ranguniya upazila unit general secretary Engineer Shamsul Alam Talukder, former chairman Kazi Nurul Azim, Morshed Mahmud, Kamal Uddin Chowdhury, Siraj Uddin Chowdhury, Jamal Uddin, Mostafa Jahangir, Yousuf Matobbor and Sadequr Nur Chowdhury Tipu, among others, addressed the rally.
