DHAKA, July 12, 2024 (BSS) - Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu Moni today hoped that crime reporters will be more vocal against all sorts of crimes through their reports.

"I hope that crime reporters will be more vocal against all kinds of crimes including rumours and their activities and writings will be more dynamic in the future," she told a gathering of journalists virtually at a function organized by Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) at its Nasrul Hamid auditorium in the city as the chief guest.

CRAB organized the sports competition and fruits festival with its president Kamruzzaman Khan in the chair.

About journalism, Dipu Moni said that there is no alternative to investigative journalism.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman, CRAB President Kamruzzaman Khan, senior executive director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Don) and senior deputy executive Md Rabiul Islam Milton were present as special guests.

Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) President Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, treasurer of BFUJ- Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and former CRAB President Khairuzzaman Kamal, former CRAB Presidents Parvez Khan, Abul Khair, Mirza Mehdi Tamal and Isharaf Hossain Isa were also present.
