Police working to win people’s trust: DMP

 
DHAKA, Jan 4, 2025 (BSS) - Additional Police Commissioner of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md. Masud Karim today said they have been working to win the trust of the people.  
 
“Our sincere efforts continue to ensure that the police can be trusted by the people. We are working day and night,” he said in a view exchange meeting organized by students, people and respected citizens at the Uttarkhan Thana Bhaban here.
 
He said they have been working round the clock to create a place in the heart and soul of the people.
 
“We are doing everything that needs to be done to bring about visible changes. The police station is the main place of police service from where you get legal services. Therefore, we have paid special attention to making the police station effective for people of all classes and professions,” he said.
 
The higher authorities are always trying to see that the works of the police station is being done properly, he said, adding that the job of the police is to maintain law and order by involving the people.
 
“This police station belongs to you. The police are now working today and can be transferred tomorrow from the police stations, but you may stay in the same area. So, you have to play an important role to maintain law and order,” he said.
 
He hoped that the young folk would continue to raise their voices of protest against injustice.
 
“Everyone should be vigilant so that the culture of crimes does not return, and extend your continued support to the police,” he said.
 
The Additional Police Commissioner also said, as a result of the July-August movement, they have got the freedom to do fair work.
 
“In this regard, we have to maintain unity and bring positive changes in the society. Please cooperate by providing us with information on all types of crimes including drugs, extortion,” he said.

The meeting, chaired by Uttara Division Deputy Police Commissioner Rawnak Jahan, was attended by officials of various ranks of Uttara Division, leaders of various political, social, professional, religious organizations, heads of educational institutions and leaders of student movements.
