500 blankets among the cold-stricken poor and distressed people in a function
held at the Haribhasha Girls' High School ground in Sadar upazila of
Panchagarh district today.

The SASF, named after Abu Sayeed, was established on December 8 as a non-

He was martyred in police firing during the anti-discrimination students'
movement in Rangpur city on July 16.

Instantly after Abu Sayeed's martyrdom, the nationwide student-public
movement against discrimination quickly transformed into a popular uprising,
forcing the then fascist former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to flee the
country.

event as the chief guest and distributed blankets to the helpless and poor
cold-stricken people of the area.

Hossain, its Organizing Secretary Md Ruhul Amin, Finance Secretary Md Rafiqul

Talking to BSS, Abu Hossain said the blanket distribution programme will
continue in the future to mitigate the suffering of the poor and helpless
people in different areas.

Earlier, on January 2, 1,000 blankets were distributed among 1,000 cold-hit
poor people in a programme organised by Shaheed Abu Sayeed Foundation at
Jafarpara High School ground in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur district.
