SUNAMGANJ, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) started investigation against former Awami League lawmaker (MP) from Sunamganj-1 constituency Moazzem Hossain Raton.
As part of the investigation, a team led by ACC Assistant Director (AD) Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan conducted a search at his residence (Payel View) in the town here today.
Among others, general secretary of the district corruption prevention committee freedom fighter Haji Nurul Momen, Sub-Divisional Engineer of Sunamganj Public Works Department Prosenjit Paul and officers of Sadar Model Thana, were accompanied by the ACC Assistant Director.
The team also interrogated Tanvi Jhumur, second wife of Raton and wanted to know the detailed asset and properties of Raton. They also conducted a search operation at the Dharmopasha residence of the former lawmaker on the same day.
They are also trying to find out the illegal assets and properties of the former Awami League MP at Netrakona, Mymensingh and Dhaka’s Gulshan area, AD Mahmudul Hasan said.
The ACC has constituted a four-member probe committee headed by Director (Inquiry and Investigation) Md Abdul Majed. The other members of the committee are- Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar Prodhan, Assistant Director Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan and Deputy Assistant Director Alman Ahmed Oni.
