DHAKA, Jan 15, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed former member of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman on a three-day remand in an arms case filed with the capital's Vatara Police Station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter passed the order as police produced Matiur before the court and pleaded to place him on a 10-day remand in the case.
Detective Branch (DB) of police earlier today arrested Matiur Rahman and his
wife Laila Kaniz from the city's Bashundhara Residential Area.
Matiur became a subject of controversy due to a high-profile sacrificial
goat, which was booked by his son during the last Eid-ul-Azha.
He was accused in number of cases, including two graft cases, filed by the ACC on charges of amassing wealth illegally on December 15, 2024.
