DHAKA, Jan 24, 2025 (BSS)- City’s grocery markets are abandoned with winter vegetables, bringing smile in the face of buyers as prices are downward.
“Vegetable price are now going down considerably and most of the vegetables are being sold between Tk. 30 to Tk. 50 per kg.
Buyers are happy with the price while vendors are also happy for higher sale,” a seller at Mohammadpur Krishi Market told BSS today.
Radishes are being sold at Tk. 30 per kg, bean at Tk. 40 per kg, potato at Tk. 30-35 per kg, tomato at Tk. 40 per kg, cauliflower and cabbage are being sold at Tk. 20 to Tk. 30 per piece in different markets.
Cucumber is being sold at Tk. 40 per kg, carrot at Tk. 50 per kg, green chilli at Tk. 50 per kg, papaya at Tk. 40, bitter gourd at Tk. 50, lemon at Tk. 30 every four pieces and gourd at Tk. 50 to Tk. 70 per piece.
A regular shopper Abdul Wahab at Mirpur section-6 grocery market, said, "It is very comfortable to buy vegetables now compared to other times of the year.”
Locally produced onions are being sold at Tk. 50 per kg while price of Indian onions is Tk. 60 per kg.
A buyer at Segunbagicha said, "Vegetables are now among the cheapest kitchen items in the market. Buyers like us can now buy vegetables according to their choice,” he said.
