NARSINGDI, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair today claimed that there is no conflict among the government, Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
"There is no conflict among us. The election should be held within a reasonable time after completion of logical reforms. This reasonable time means the end of this year or the beginning of next year," he said.
The Jamaat leader said this at a conference of ward presidents and secretaries of the district Jamaat at Nagriyakandi UMC Adarsha High School in the Sadar Upazila.
Zubair said six months have already passed since the country was liberated from dictatorship and fascism.
"Now it is important for everyone to remain united. The people do not want division. National-level leaders remain aware. Even if they make contradictory statements, it will not turn anyone into an enemy or pave the way for the return of autocracy," he added.
Regarding the contradictory statements of the government's advisers, Jamaat and BNP leaders, Zubair said, "Everyone has to speak carefully so that people do not get confused. BNP wants elections, we want the same. There is no big division between us".
Jamaat Office Secretary AFM Abdus Sattar and Narayanganj City Jamaat Ameer Abdul Jabbar were present as special guests at the conference, chaired by Narsingdi District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Musleh Uddin.
Narsingdi District Jamaat Secretary General Maulana Amjad Hossain conducted the event, joined by about two thousand leaders and workers from different units of the district.
