Mirza Fakhrul gets overwhelming love, wishes on his 78th birthday

DHAKA, Jan 26, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir turned 78 today. He was born on this day in 1948 in a Muslim family in Thakurgaon.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam realized that he had turned 78 after waking up in the morning and hearing his two daughters’ ‘Happy Birthday’ and seeing his grandchildren happily wish him a happy birthday, he expressed this to reporters.

“This is a different kind of joy. Since the first hour of my birthday on January 26, many friends, relatives and leaders have called me to wish me a happy birthday,” he said.

He said in the morning, his wife Rahat Ara Begum also wished him a happy birthday by giving him a cup of tea.

The party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman also sent his greetings from London and senior leaders also wished him happy birthday over phone.

Stating that his health is not going well, the BNP Secretary General said, "This time my entire family is in Dhaka. That's why I was able to spend this day together with my family."

Since 12:01am on Saturday, he has been showered with respect and love from his loved ones, well-wishers, and people from different classes and professions on his 78th birthday.
In particular, many people on the popular social media platform Facebook wished Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his birthday, as well as wished him good health and political success.

Well-wishers, academicians, leaders of like-minded political parties, BNP beat reporters and leaders of various professional organizations wished him a happy birthday through direct meetings and phone calls throughout the day.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Rahat Ara Begum are blessed with two daughters. The elder daughter, Mirza Shamaruh, lives in Australia with her husband and children. She is currently working as a senior scientist at the Federal Medical Council in Canberra after completing a post-doctoral fellowship at a university in Sydney. Mirza Shamaruh and her husband arrived in Dhaka a few days ago. The younger daughter, Mirza Safaruh, teaches at a school in the capital.
