DHAKA, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy today said people of the country are fighting against invisible force, which is very important to make it visible.
“People are fighting against invisible force. It is important to make this invisible force visible,” he said while addressing a training workshop of 12-party alliance at the National Press Club.
The training workshop titled “31-Point for Repairing the State Structure and Public Engagement”, which was designed for the purpose of democratic reform of the constitution and state system, and economic emancipation. BNP Acting Chairman's Adviser Dr. Mahadi Amin discussed the issues in detail among the leaders and activists.
Calling upon the government to announce a roadmap for the elections quickly, the senior BNP leader said that it is necessary to investigate whether the interim government has any other motive behind the reforms.
He added, “Whatever the motive is, the interim government should hold elections on time to restore the people's right to vote without delay. Only then the people will salute them.”
In his speech at the workshop, Mustafa Jamal Haider, chief of the 12-party alliance and chairman of the Jatiya Party (Jafar), said, "The 31-point agenda is a very loud and widely discussed issue in Bangladeshi politics today and this will actually reflect the aspirations of the entire Bengali nation.”
He added, “None of us have any disagreement on this. If we’re in power, we’ll implement each agenda of it from top to bottom."
Alliance spokesperson and Bangladesh LDP chairman Shahadat Hossain Selim said, "We’ve fought against the oppression and tyranny of the runaway dictatorial government. We were on the streets every day. The uprising of July-August was the result of the united movement of students and the public.”
He continued, "We’ve started working patiently to build the future of Bangladesh in line with the guidance of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman."
Selim, however, said “We’re now terrified by the warning signs as the entire nation is going through an unstable situation today due to the instigation of a few. The advisers are moving away from the spirit of revolution.”
Coordinator of the 12-party alliance and Chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party Syed Ehsanul Huda, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh Secretary General Mufti Golam Mohiuddin Ikram, Bikalpadhara Bangladesh Chairman Professor Nurul Amin Bepari, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) Senior Vice President Rashed Pradhan, Bangladesh Kalyan Party Chairman Shamsuddin Parvez.
