DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on 11 individuals including former chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, his wife Shenin Rubayat, and two sons -- Zuhayer Sharar Islam and Zaber Shahdan Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed by its Deputy Director Md Masudur Rahman.

The plea mentioned that investigation is going on against the wanted individuals for acquiring assets through corruption and illegal means beyond their known sources. It is necessary to issue travel ban on them for the sake of a fair investigation.

The other members of the ban are Shibli Rubayat'S family members including Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed, Md. Mahbubul Alam, Md. Saifur Rahman, Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Sheikh Mahbub Ur Rahman, Md. Mahmudul Haque, Sk Md. Lutful Kabir and Md. Rashidul Alam.
