DHAKA, Feb 14, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sent Jatiya Party leader and former Sylhet-2 lawmaker Md Yahya Chowdhury to jail.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bhadra passed the order as police produced him before the court after showing him arrested under section 54 and pleaded to keep him behind bars.

A group of students and people apprehend Chowdhury from a house in Uttara Sector-3 in the capital on February 23 and handed him over to police.

A case was filed against him with Sylhet Kotwali Police Station on October 2 for launching an attack on students and people on August 4 in Kumarpara area of Sylhet town.
