AL ruined election process in Bangladesh: Sohel

JAMALPUR, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) - Joint-Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Habib-Un-Nabi Khan Sohel today said Awami League has no right to participate in the next election as it had deprived one crore young voters of their voting right. 

“The Awami League has ruined the country’s election process and obstructed one crore young voters to cast their votes,” he said.

In this connection, he said there is no difference between Yahiya Khan and Sheikh Hasina. “If we remain united no power in the world can overpower us,” he added.

He made the remarks while addressing the bi-annual council of Dewanganj Upazila BNP and Poura BNP of the district at Dewanganj Government Girls’high School field in the Upazila as the chief guest .

Convener, Upazila BNP, M Rashiduzzaman Millat presided over the council while President of the District BNP, Faridul Kabir Talukdar Shamim inaugurated it.

Organising Secretary, Central BNP, Md Shariful Alam spoke as main speaker while its Co-Organising Secretaries- Advocate Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun and Abu Wahab Akanda spoke as special guests at the council.

In the council, M Rashiduzzaman Millat and Abdur Rashid Sada were elected as President and General Secretary respectively of Upazila BNP while Manjurul Haque Manju as President and Atiqur Rahman Saju as General Secretary of Poura BNP.
