DHAKA, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu today urged all anti-autocratic forces to remain united against the conspiracy being hatched to create anarchy in a planned manner in the country.

"A planned conspiracy to create chaos is going on in the country. All the forces opposing the dictatorship must remain united to stop this conspiracy," he said while taking part at a discussion at Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here.

The discussion was held in memory of the founding President of the Jatiyatabadi Bastuhara Dal and freedom fighter Sharif Hafizur Rahman (Tipu Master) under the initiative of Engineer Sharif Nagib.

"If chaos increases in the country, there will be no elections. If there are no elections, fascism will rise again. The hands of the conspirators will become stronger. That’s why all the forces opposing the dictatorship must leave aside little differences among them and remain united," Dudu added.

The BNP Vice-Chairman said that the last innings of the 17-year-long struggle was the final movement on the month of July as that movement forced Sheikh Hasina to flee the country resulting in the final defeat of the Awami League.

The departure of Sheikh Hasina brings a new ray of hope of establishing democracy in the country, he said, adding that holding an election is crucial at this moment to restore democracy.

He hoped that those who will come to power through democratic elections will establish the rule of law in the country.

BNP Chairperson's Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapan Presided over the discussion while 'Desh Bachao-O-Manush Bachao Andolan' President KM Rakibul Islam Ripon moderated it.

BNP Joint Secretary General Abdus Salam Azad, Muktijuddho Dal President Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, BNP Executive Committee Member Mainul Islam, Labour Party Chairman Lion Faruk Rahman, Muktijoddha Dal Organizing Secretary Mia Mohammad Anwar and Krishak Dal leader Shajahan Mia Samrat also spoke on the occasion, among others.
