DHAKA, Feb 23, 2024 (BSS) – As part of the move to check sabotage
and violence leading to instability in the country, the joint forces
apprehended 585 more people, under the nationwide 'Operation Devil
Hunt'.
In a short message, the police headquarters said 1493 more individuals
were netted from across the country on the 16th day of the operation in
the last 24 hours till noon today.
Of the arrestees, 585 were captured for their suspected link to
destabilize the country under the ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ while 908 others
on previous cases and warrants, the message said.
With the latest figure, a total of 8,664 were arrested from across the
country under the ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ that begun since February 8
following a terror attack on the student-people in Gazipur.
During the operation in the last 24 hours, one local made pistol, one LG,
one magazine, 10 rounds of bullet three cartridges and six machetes
were seized.
