DHAKA, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former Faridpur-4 lawmaker Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury alias Nixon Chowdhury and his wife Tarin Hossain over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Assistant director of ACC Muhammad Shihab Salam filed the plea before the court, saying the anti-graft body is investigating the huge corruption allegations against the former lawmaker and his wife. The couple is trying to flee the country to evade justice and a travel ban should be imposed on them, it added.

Meanwhile, the same court also imposed a travel ban on former secretary and former executive members of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Md Khairul Islam.
