DHAKA, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today showed eight people including former minister Amir Hossain Amu, former inspector general of police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun arrested in different cases filed over crimes committed during the student-led July-August mass uprising.
The other accused, who were shown arrested today, are--Sadek Khan, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal's son Safi Muddaser Khan Jyoti, Nazrul Islam Mazumder, Rajon Kumar Saha, Moshiur Rahman and Shamima Akter.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain passed the orders as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to show them arrested in the cases.
Of the eight, Amu was shown arrested in a murder case filed with the Khilgaon Police Station, former lawmaker Sadek Khan in a Mohammadpur Police Station case, Mamun in a case filed with the Adabor Police Station, Jyoti in Rampura Police Station case, NASSA Group chairman Nazrul in Uttara East Police Station, former assistant commissioner (AC) Rajon in a Badda Police Station case, former deputy commissioner (DC) of DMP Moshiur in another Badda Police Station case and Jubo Mohila League leader Shamima was shown arrested in a Tejgaon Police Station case.
