Ex-AL MP Majid Khan taken on 2-day police remand

HABIGANJ, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - Former Member of the Parliament (MP) from Habiganj-2 constituency Abdul Majid Khan was taken on a two-day police remand from the Judicial Magistrate Court here today.

A team of Sadar Thana police produced the former MP before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Delwar Hossain with a prayer for granting his seven day police remand. 

Inspector Md Nazmul Islam of Habiganj Sadar court told BSS that the former MP was arrested from Dhaka’s Uttara area on February 10 following a case with Sadar Thana for his alleged involvement in an attack on the activists of the anti-discrimination students’ movement.   

One Moharram Chan on October 9 filed the case with Sadar Thana accusing the leaders and activists of Awami League including the former lawmaker.

Advocate M A Majid said that the court after long hearing granted his two-day remand and ordered to send him into jail.
