DHAKA, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) – The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has detained a fugitive accused at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) while attempting to leave the country.

The arrestee was identified as Md. Nobin Hossain, 32, son of Tofazzal Bepari from Baghaikandi in Munshiganj Sadar upazila.

He is reportedly an active member of an organized fraud ring, according to a CID press release said today.

The release further stated that Hossain was wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation by the CID of Bangladesh Police in a case of fraudulence.

CID officials revealed that the accused had defrauded  multiple individuals, including the plaintiff in this case, and taken huge money by falsely promising them job opportunities  in foreign countries;  such as Europe, Australia, Canada, Singapore, and the United States.

The arrest was followed by a tip-off, received by the CID.
