DHAKA, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) – The government has suspended
former Joint Commissioner (JC) (admin and Detective-South) of
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Biplob Kumar Sarkar and JC
(Traffic Division South) SM Mehedi Hasan from their jobs.
During their suspension, Biplob Kumar Sarkar and SM Mehedi
Hasan will be attached to the Barisal and Sylhet Range DIG
office respectively.
According to a gazette notification issued today, signed by
senior secretary of public security division of the home ministry
Nasimul Gani, the suspended police officers will receive
subsistence allowances in accordance with government
regulations.
The notifications said Biplob and Mehedi remained absent at
workplaces without any permission since August 6 last year.
They failed to notify the relevant authorities about their
absences either verbally or in writing, it added.
As per the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules
of 2018, the suspensions have been enforced under the Rule 2
(Cha).
The order has been published for the sake of public interest,
the notifications said.
