DHAKA, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - Leaders of eight political parties, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), will leave here tonight for a 13-day visit to China at the invitation of the ruling Communist Party of the country.
BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan will lead the 22-member delegation which included four leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the Jatiya Nagorik Committee.
The delegation will leave Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport, Dhaka for China at 10:45 pm today, BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan told BSS.
The delegation included five leaders of BNP and its affiliated bodies.
The leaders are BNP Legal Affairs Secretary Kaiser Kamal, Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal General Secretary Shahidul Islam, Jubo Dal General Secretary Nurul Islam, Swechchhasebak Dal General Secretary Rajib Ahsan and Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque, Ganosanghati Andolan Executive Coordinator Abul Hasan Md. Shahidul Islam, National People's Party Chairman AZM Fariduzzaman, National Democratic Movement Chairman Bobby Hajjaj, Gano Adhikar Parishad General Secretary Md. Rashed Khan, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Joint Secretary General Ataullah Amin and Jatiya Dal Chairman Syed Ehsanul Huda.
In addition, Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) researcher Md. Nahian Sajjad Khan and Professor Lilufar Yasmin of the Department of International Relations at Dhaka University are in the delegation.
Joint conveners of Jatiya Nagorik Committee Ali Ahsan Jonayed and assistant-spokesperson Rafi Salman Rifat Tahsin Riaz, and former coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Mitu Akhter are also the delegation.
Two journalists are also on the tour.
Earlier, after the August 5 mass uprising, leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and some other Islamic political parties and organizations visited that country at the invitation of the ruling Communist Party of China.
