NARAYANGANJ, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today placed Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former state minister for posts, telecommunications and information technology, on a 12-day remand, allowing four days of interrogation for each of the three cases filed against him.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Belayet Hossain of Narayanganj passed the order after police pleaded to place him on a 19-day remand for the three cases.
Earlier, police produced Palak before the court in connection with three murder and explosives cases filed over an attack on anti-discrimination student protesters in Narayanganj's Sadar Model and Siddhirganj police stations. Following the hearing, the court granted a four-day remand for each case, said Narayanganj Court Police Inspector Abdul Qayyum.
After the hearing, he was sent back to jail.
Palak was arrested from the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on August 6.
