DHAKA, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) - A court here has imposed a travel ban on former member of parliament (MP) from Kishoreganj-2 constituency Nur Mohammad and his wife Ismat Ara Begum over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on February 20, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC in its plea said the anti-graft body is probing allegations against Nur Mohammad, also the former inspector general of police, of acquiring wealth of Taka 542 crore by misusing his power and laundering the money abroad. 

"The accused couple is trying to flee the country and a travel ban should be imposed on them for the sake of proper investigation," the plea added.
