Joint forces arrest 51 with teenage gang members in city

DHAKA, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) - The joint forces led by Bangladesh Army in separate drives in different city areas detained a total 51 people, including the members of teenage gangs with some local weapons in the last two days from February 25.

A release of the Directorate of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said here this evening. 

Based on specific secret information, the joint forces including the units of six Independent ADA Brigade and 46 Independent Infantry Brigade of Bangladesh Army, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police conducted operations in Mohammadpur-Adabar, Azimpur, Dhaka College area, Khilkhet, Uttara, Abdullahpur Bus Stand, Dakshin Khan and Nikunja areas as part of their ongoing drives in the capital and elsewhere across the country.

Of the arrestees, most of them were involved in different criminal activities. Illegal local weapons and various types of drugs were also recovered from their possession, the ISPR mentioned.

Later, the detainees were handed over to the respective police stations and legal action is underway in this connection.
