DHAKA, Mar 2, 2025 (BSS) – AB Party (ABP) leaders today held a meeting with French ambassador in Dhaka Marie Masdupuy when they explained their political viewpoints and goals saying Bangladesh was now in a transformative stage.
According to a party press release, the leaders said that it is time to move away from the idea of backwardness and dynasty in politics.
“The youth are tired of old politics and truly want to see a transformative change. We are determined to implement it gradually,” the press release quoted AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju a saying at the meeting at the French embassy.
It said the party leaders informed the envoy about the concept of Bangladesh’s new generation politics, background of AB Party's establishment, its policies, activities and the goal of building welfare based state.
ABP general secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, party leaders Barrister Nasreen Sultana Mili, Barrister Farah Naz Sattar, Hazera Mehjabin and Farzana Akhter Mitu accompanied Manju during the meeting, while the envoy was joined by French embassy’s political councilor Christan BEC.
The AB Party leaders also told the Ambassador that France-Bangladesh relations should be more people-centered.
They called for taking comprehensive measures to achieve this goal, as well as providing more Bangladeshi students with opportunities to study in French institutions to understand how French democracy and state institutions work.
Students will gain and understand about French democracy through participation in French educational institutions, AB Party leaders informed the envoy.
The leaders also urged the French government to help Bangladeshi entrepreneurs establish better business practice models.
Replying Ambassador’s question about AB Party's ideas for women's empowerment in Bangladesh, Barrister Nasreen Sultana Mili informed her that AB Party recently placed proposals to the Women's Affairs Reform Commission.
The AB Party made very progressive and specific proposals for a sustainable change through a press briefing, she said.
