DHAKA, Mar 04, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to seize tax files of former member of Taxes Appellate Tribunal Ranjit Kumar Majumder and his wife Jhumur Majumder over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC in its plea said it is probing allegations of amassing huge illegal wealth through corruption against Ranjit and his family members. Both Ranjit and his wife have tax files and the ACC has found information of FDR of around Taka 11 crore in the name of Jhumur Majumder. They have much more properties, which need to be indentified and that is why their tax files should be seized.
