DHAKA, Mar 10, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has urged all concerned to utilize the teaching of Ramadan to achieve self-purification and taqwa for establishing a society of justice.

 “ . . . use the real teachings of Ramadan in real life,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at an Iftar Mahfil, organized by Kafrul thana unit of Jamaat (South) at Monipur School Auditorium in Ibrahimpur in the capital today.

Thana unit Amir Professor Anwarul Karim presided over the meeting while Secretary of the Central Working Committee of Jamaat Abu Nahid conducted the function.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said the Prophet (peace be upon him) waited for the holy month of Ramadan. Besides, the Holy Qur’an was revealed in this month in the great manner, he added.

“Many big victories of Islam including Badr war and the victory of Makkha came in this month. So, this month's dignity is more than any other months,” he mentioned.

The Jamaat Amir urged all to concentrate on achieving the fruits of Siam (Fasting) and Taqwa (fear of Allah) through various religious activities.

“We do not have the opportunity to be indifferent in Ramadan, but in the month of Ramadan, we have to make a frantic effort to purify ourselves through more prayers or ibadat,” he added.

Among others, Shura member Lashkar Muhammad Taslim, Jamat leaders - Shahidullah, Shah Alam Tuhin, Jasim Uddin and Nazmul Hasan Khan were present there.
