DHAKA, March 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Ziaur Rahman Foundation has announced to stand by the families of martyrs and injured in the July uprising, saying members of the foundation will begin distributing Iftar and Eid gifts to the families of each victim starting from March 18.

Professor Dr Farhad Halim Doner, executive director of the foundation, revealed it at a press conference at the National Press Club today.

However, Dr Mustafa Aziz Sumon, member secretary of the iftar and eid gift distribution committee, elaborated different aspects of this campaign.

In a written statement, Sumon said, on behalf of the foundation, their doctors have already made significant efforts to provide quality treatment to the injured, and this effort will continue. 

The foundation's doctors will remain by the side of these brave warriors, offering support whenever needed in the future, he added. 

Mentioning that numerous families have lost their near and dear ones in the July uprising, Sumon said Ziaur Rahman Foundation wants to stand by those who lost their brothers and children. “We aim to share joy and sorrow with them, reaching out to every family of the martyrs."

Under the guidance of the foundation's president Tarique Rahman, its members will gather information from the families of the martyrs and connect with them. The organization established with a mission and commitment to stand by people during times of disaster, crisis, and hardship.

The Ziaur Rahman Foundation is a non-political humanitarian organization. It has supported those affected by various disasters, such as cyclones, floods, and droughts.

The foundation offered medical care to injured students during the July-August uprising. More recently, it provided relief and medical supplies to flood victims in the Feni area, which was severely affected by floods. 

Looking ahead, the members of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation have pledged to stand by the people in times of crisis.
