DHAKA, March 17, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested fugitive Farhad Maubbar, wanted in multiple cases from the capital's Shahbag area.

Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-3 conducted a raid in the Shahbagh police station area on Sunday at 05:30pm and rounded up him, said a RAB media release today.

Farhad Matubbar (55), a fugitive accused in multiple human trafficking cases, son of late Hamizuddin Matubbar and hailed from Gopalpur village at Dasar Upazila in Madaripur district.

During the initial interrogation, the RAB said that the arrested individual extorted a significant amount of money from ordinary people by luring them with lucrative offers to send them to various countries, primarily in the Kalkini and Dasar police station areas.

Subsequently, the accused went into hiding after cases were filed against him at the Kalkini and Dasar police stations.

Legal action has been taken against the arrested individual.
