DHAKA, Mar 17, 2025 (BSS) - Two senior police officials were suspended under government service rule as criminal cases were filed against them.

The police officials are- Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at Sarda Police Academy in Rajshahi Molla Nazrul Islam and former SP of Sylhet district Abdul Mannan.

The Home Ministry issued separate notifications in this regard.

Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Nasimul Ghani signed the order on March 16, following the President's order.

The order said, DIG Molla Nazrul Islam and former SP Abdul Mannan were arrested in separate cases on February 9 last. Later, courts sent them to jail.

The police officers were suspended from government service under Section 39(2) of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018) from February 9, according to the order.
