PANCHAGARH, March 20, 2025 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh has arrested three Bangladeshis, including a child, on charges of entering Bangladesh from India through the Panchagarh border.
The BGB personnel detained the three persons from the Malkadanga border area of Boda upazila in Panchagarh under the jurisdiction of 56 BGB Battalion of Nilphamari on Wednesday.
The arrestees, members of the same family, are Paritosh Kumar, 27, of Nandapara Nayadighi village in Boda upazila, his wife Radhika Rani, 24 and their three-year-old daughter Vaishnavi Rani.
According to the BGB sources, the arrestees illegally crossed border into Bangladesh from India through Sub Pillar Number 4 of Main Pillar 774 on the Malkadanga border in Boda upazila.
During the initial interrogation, they said that they had illegally entered India two and a half months ago through a broker’s ring.
They entered Bangladesh again through the broker’s ring on a contract of paying Taka 20,000.
Two mobile phones, Indian currency worth Rs 2,300 and Bangladeshi currency worth Taka 278 were recovered from them.
However, BGB could not arrest the two members of the brokers’ ring as they managed to flee.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boda Police Station Azim Uddin said that the BGB has handed over two detainees, including a child, to the police station.
A case has been filed against the two.
