DHAKA, March 25, 2025 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has chalked up a plan to facilitate celebration of the Eid ul Fitr alongside staging one of Dhaka tywo major Eid jamaat’s in the capital.

“The Eid congregation will be held at the old trade fare ground adjacent to Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre at 8:30 on te Eid day,” DNCC’s chief executive officer (CEO) Abu Sayeed Md Kamruzzaman said.

He said enough facilities would be ensured for prayers of the devotees and arrangements would be made for women as well at the congregation.

“Law enforcement agencies will also be deployed to ensure security,” the CEO added.

He said the municipal body for the northern part of the capital would also stage an Eid procession and an Eid fair adding the procession would be brought out after Eid prayers from the congregation ground after eid prayers and end at Manik Miah Avenue via Khamarbari intersection.

The DNCC official said horse cart, music and other festivity instruments would be used to add colour to the procession alsongside festoons and placards.

“A cultural function will also be staged after the colourful procession. At the end point of the proiicession vermicelli and sweet meats will be kept ready for participants,” Kamruzzaman said.

He said the DNCC took such of this initiative to hold the Eid joyous for the first time for the city dwellers.

DNCC officials said a two-day Eid joyous fair will be organised on the premises of Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre.

They said the fair will continue from Eid day and the second day from 9am to 5pm. The fair will be opened for all.

Director of youth directorate M A Khair, joint secretary of cultural ministry Md Minazur Rahman, chief engineer of DNCC Brigadier General Md Moin Uddin, chief health officer Brigadier General Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, DNCC secretary Muhammad Asaduzzaman, DMP Tejgaon division ADC Tania Sultana and others were present at the meeting, among others.
