DHAKA, March 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today greeted the countrymen on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
"After a month of fasting, Eid-ul-Fitr has arrived at our doorstep with a message of joy. The nation is going to celebrate this Eid at a time when the country has achieved independence for the second time through the student-people mass uprising," he said.
The Jamaat Ameer said this in message issued here today in the advent of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said the countrymen now breathe in a free environment since the downfall of the oppressor like a stone imposed on the nation for the last 15 and half years.
"The people of the country now can speak freely and move around in peace and comfort," Shafiqur said.
"May the Almighty Allah accept them as martyrs, for whose sacrifice the nation has found a peaceful and comfortable country and has the opportunity to speak. We express our condolences to those who became disable and received injuries. We wish quick recovery of them," he added.
Noting that even though the fascist autocrat has fled the country, they are creating chaos in the country in various ways by their cohorts who are staying abroad and hiding in the country, he said they are hatching conspiracies to create controversy and chaos in different ways to obstruct holding a free, fair, neutral and participatory election in the country.
"The government should create a suitable environment for free, fair and neutral elections by ending this situation. At the same time, the countrymen should be united and remain vigilant against all anti-state activities," the Jamaat Ameer said.
The countrymen, he said, should continue the movement and struggle until a humane Bangladesh is formed.
"Eid-ul-Fitr is coming to us after a long training to follow the laws of Allah in personal, family, social and state life by instilling the fear of Allah among the people," Shafiqur said, adding, after a month-long fasting, Eid-ul-Fitr brings a message of peace and joy among the Muslims.
"Eid-ul-Fitr awakens a sense of close brotherhood among all classes of the Muslims -- rich and poor," he said.
"On this day of Eid, let us forget all differences and build a great bridge of kindness, brotherhood, equality, unity and love among people. Let's work together to build a society free from violence and hatred, and come forward to help the neglected, deprived, oppressed and tortured people of the society and share each other's joys and sorrows," Shafiqur added.
On behalf of his party, the Jamaat Ameer wished the countrymen happiness, peace, prosperity, sound health and a safe life.
