DHAKA, April 6, 2025 (BSS) - Newly formed executive committee of the France-Bangladesh Journalists Association (FBJA) has vowed to take a significant step in strengthening journalistic ties between France and Bangladesh.
Mohammad Mahbub Hossain, France correspondent for Daily Naya Diganta, has been made coordinator of the committee, while Mohammed Kamruzzaman, former finance secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), has been named joint coordinator, said a press release this evening.
The BFJA at its first executive committee will serve for a two-year term, it said.
Mohammad Arif Ullah of France24 has been appointed spokesperson, and Mosaddak Hossain Saiful, correspondent for Bangladesh Pratidin and Nagorik TV, has been made joint spokespersons. Journalist Habibullah Fahad will serve as finance secretary.
Veteran journalist and columnist Niaz Mamud will lead the Communication and Public Relations Cell, with Thanbir Ahmed Tuha assisting as a member. The Training and Skills Development Cell will be headed by senior journalist Md Nazmul Hasan.
Channel i France correspondent Hasem M A will provide training in television and multimedia, while Abdullah Al Mamun will focus on print media skills.
Planning and event coordination will be overseen by Momin Bin Mahmud Ansari, a former vice president of the Chittagong University Journalists Association (CUJA), who has been appointed to lead the Planning and Event Management Cell.
The other committee members include: Sarder Hasan Yelias Tanim, Zakir Hossain, Yeashir Arafat Khokan, Md. Mamunur Rashid and Siful Islam.
