DHAKA, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - Two more political parties today submitted their respective opinions on reform proposals to the National Consensus Commission.
The parties are Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh and Gono Odhikar Parishad.
They submitted their opinions to the Commission's Vice-Chairman, Professor Ali Riaz, at the Jatiya Sangsad Complex.
A delegation of Bikalpa Dhara, led by its Secretary General Shah Ahmed Badal, submitted its opinions to the Commission.
Later, Gono Odhikar Parishad submitted its views as well.
The Commission identified crucial recommendations from the reports of five reform commissions - the Constitution Reform Commission, the Public Administration Reform Commission, the Electoral System Reform Commission, the Judiciary Reform Commission, and the ACC Reform Commission - and sought feedback from political parties.
Subsequently, the Commission sent a set of recommendations in spreadsheet format to 38 political parties, asking them to provide specific feedback on key reform proposals by March 13.
With the inclusion of these two parties, a total of 31 political parties have submitted their respective opinions to the Consensus Commission.
The National Consensus Commission began formal dialogue on March 20 to finalize the recommendations made by the reform commissions.
The Commission has already held discussions with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Khelafat Majlis, Bangladesh Labour Party, Rashtra Sanskar Andolan, Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, and Nagorik Oikya.
