DHAKA, April 17, 2025 (BSS)- Terming the reforms as ongoing process, BNP chairperson's advisor Zainul Abdin Farroque has said broader reform in all state machineries should be done only by the elected government.
“The interim government should only make reforms required for an election. An elected government can go for all necessary reforms suiting to people’s aspiration,” he said.
Farroque said this at a sit-in-program organized by the Democracy Forum in front of the National Press Club this afternoon.
Urging the interim government to go only for essential reforms, he said, election should be announced as soon as possible to avoid any crisis.
The BNP leader said, "It’s not possible for the interim government to complete all reforms even if it holds the power for three to five years.”
The interim government will definitely not remain in power for three to five years. So, the only way for them is to complete the necessary reforms quickly to arrange the national elections by December.
BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Harun-ar-Rashid, BNP National Executive Committee member Abu Naser Md. Rahmatullah, General Secretary of Democracy Forum Obaidur Rahman Tipu spoke, among others, on the occasion with organization’s president Md. Ibrahim.
