Bangladesh Olympic Association Executive Committee meeting held

DHAKA, April 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Executive Committee (EC) of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) today held a meeting at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment, with the BOA President and Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman in the chair.

The meeting commenced with a one-minute silence in memory of late sports organizers, athletes, and members of the sports community who passed away
between December 7, 2024 and April 22, 2025.

During the meeting, the army chief thanked all concerned and expressed his firm to take the country's sports arena to the highest peak of
prosperity, said an ISPR release Today.

He reaffirmed his strong optimism regarding the successful implementation of the proposed Olympic Complex in Trishal and Mymensingh, aimed at enhancing sports infrastructure and promoting Bangladesh's presence in the global sports arena.

The construction of the indoor stadium under this project is scheduled to
begin in June this year.

Key decisions were made during the meeting concerning Bangladesh's
participation in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, and the 14th South Asian Games, as well as the hosting of the 10th Bangladesh Games.

The meeting endorsed the minutes of the BOA EC meeting and also reviewed the progress report and implementation of various decisions in the last meeting on December 7, 2024, the ISPR also said.
