MANIKGANJ, Aug 01, 2026 (BSS)- Ninth death anniversary of former minister Harunar Rashid Khan Monno, father of Afroza Khanam Rita, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister, observed at Gilanda his native village today.

On the occasion a dua mahfil was arranged here today in which minister Afroza Khanam Rita and leaders and workers of BNP and its front organizations and a large number of people of all walks of life were present.

Afroza Khanam Rita said she has been following the teaching of her father who founded a Medical College and hospital in Monno City at Gilanda to provide the medical treatment to rural people. 

She inaugurated a four bed ICU unit at the Monno Medical College Hospital which is the first ICU unit in a hospital in the district. Number of ICU bed will be increased gradually, she said.

Principal of the college Dr.  Abdul Karim, doctors and nurses and local leaders were present.
