DHAKA, Aug 02, 2026 (BSS) - Mohammad Rashedul Haque has assumed office as the
Managing Director (MD) of Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Limited
(BOESL).

He was appointed to the post on a contractual basis with Grade-2 status
through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on
July 23.

He formally took charge on July 30, succeeding outgoing Managing Director Md
Saiful Islam.

Hailed from Madaripur, Rashedul Haque obtained both his bachelor's and
master's degrees from the Department of Information Science and Library
Management at Dhaka University.

He spent more than 17 years in Australia, gaining extensive experience in
international communication, multicultural work environments, and engagement
with the expatriate Bangladeshi community.

He previously served as International Affairs Secretary of the Bangladesh
Nationalist Party (BNP) and as Special Assistant to the BNP Chairperson's
Advisory Committee on Foreign Affairs.

After assuming office, he pledged to ensure safe, legal, transparent, and
cost-effective overseas employment in line with the policies of the Ministry
of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

He emphasized that BOESL will prioritize sending more skilled workers abroad.

"Making BOESL a more effective and modern institution by sending safe,
disciplined, and skilled manpower overseas to contribute to the country's
economic development will be one of my key goals," he said.

To achieve these objectives, he sought cooperation from the ministry,
government and private institutions, development partners, Bangladesh
missions abroad, international stakeholders, and the media.

On the occasion, BOESL officials and employees congratulated the new MD.

BOESL is the only state-owned international manpower exporting agency under
the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

Since its inception, the organization has played a vital role in creating
safe, legal, and low-cost employment opportunities abroad and in sending
skilled manpower to various countries, thereby contributing significantly to
the overseas employment sector.
