RANGPUR, Sept 12, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur
Range Police Mohammad Abdul Mabud has said that teachers are respected
figures in society and teaching is not merely a profession, but it is a noble
responsibility of shaping lives.
"In educational institutions, emphasis should be placed on teachers' status,
professional responsibilities, ethics, discipline, financial transparency,
continuous pursuit of knowledge, technical proficiency and plans for future
development," he said.
Abdul Mabud said this while addressing an introductory and interactive
meeting with the teachers and staff of Rangpur Police Lines School and
College at the institution's auditorium as the chief on Saturday.
Rangpur District Superintendent of Police Md Mozammel Haque along with the
institution's teachers and staff members attended the event presided over by
the institution's Principal Professor Md Obaidul Anwar.
Highlighting the importance of the status and responsibilities of teachers,
the DIG said that teachers must perform their duties with dedication,
responsibility, and professional excellence while upholding their dignity.
"To maintain the respect you (teachers) have earned, you must work hard,
control your emotions, and remain sincere in your duties," he said.
Regarding the development of Police Lines School and College, the DIG
remarked that positive changes must be introduced in line with the times
while preserving the institution's heritage and reputation.
"We must take decisions that are in the best interest of the institution," he
said, and emphasized the need to further improve the quality of education
while preserving the institution's unique characteristics and traditions.
He called for ensuring an environment conducive to education, ethics,
discipline, and character building, while also fostering a culture of mutual
respect and responsibility between teachers and students.
Urging a compassionate and positive approach to correcting students'
mistakes, the DIG said, "Students may make errors. They must be guided onto
the right path through parental compassion, counseling, and proper
direction."
He encouraged teachers to regularly acquire new knowledge, stay informed
about education-related laws, rules, and circulars, and integrate modern
technology into their work.
"By working together, we will transform this institution into an even better,
modern, and high-quality center of learning," the DIG hoped.
