DHAKA, Feb 10, 2023 (BSS)- Malian forward Souleymane Diabate's brilliant hat-trick saw Mohammedan Sporting Club thrash Azampur Football Club Uttara by 6-0 goals in the Bangladesh Premier League football held today (Friday) at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.
Apart from Diabate's hat-trick with three goals in the match, Venezuelan forward Daniel Febles, forward Arif Hossain and midfielder Sazzad Hossain supported him with a lone goal each for Mohammedan who led the first half by 2-0 goals in the one- sided affairs.
Diabate put Mohammedan SC ahead in the 21st minute from a penalty while he doubled the margin scoring his second goal in the 35th minute.
After the breather, Mohammedan continued their onslaught and added four more goals in the second half.
Febles scored the third goal for Mohammedan in the 70th minute while the prolific Malian striker Diabate completed his hat-trick scoring his third and fourth goal for Mohammedan in the 70th minute of the match.
Arif Hossain further widened the Mohammedan's margin scoring the fifth goal in the 80th minute while Sazzad Hossain completed the winners' tally scoring the sixth goal for Mohammedan in the 87th minute of the match.
Mohammedan SC completely dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Azampur Football Club were totally off-colored as they failed to create any real scoring move.
With the day's win the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan SC moved up sixth position in the league table with nine points from eight matches while Azampur Football Club Uttara, who stand at bottom of the point table, remained at their previous credit of one point playing the same number of matches.
Meanwhile, three matches will be held tomorrow (Saturday) with Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra taking on Bangladesh Police Football Club at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj, Bashundhara Kings meet Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at Bashundhara Sports Complex in Dhaka and Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society face Chittagong Abahani Limited at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
All the matches kick off at 3.15 pm.
