Three more national records on day 3

DHAKA, Oct 18, 2023 (BSS)- Swimmers set three more national records on the
third day of Max Group 32nd National Swimming Diving and Water Polo
competition held at Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in the city's
Mirpur on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Army's Jewel Ahmed set the new national record in the men's 1500m
free style with a time of 17:05.95 improving the previous mark of 17:23.34
set by Faisal Ahmed.

Mochammat Sonai Khatun set the new national record in the women's 100m
butterfly clocking 01:07.33 eclipsing the previous mark of 01:0777 set by
Sonai Khatun.

In the men's 4x200m free style relay event, Bangladesh Army comprising Polash
Chowdhury, Mahmudunnobi Nahid, Kajol Mia and Asif Reza set the new national
mark with a time of 08: 06.01 bettering the old mark of 08: 07.18 set by
Bangladesh Navy last year.
 
Bangladesh Navy continued their domination in the medal tally on the third
day with 28 gold, 18 silver and 11 bronze medals while Bangladesh Army is
following Navy with four gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze medals.

Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan (BKSP) stands at third position at the
table with one silver and seven bronze medals.
The prize distribution ceremony of the competition will be held tomorrow
(Thursday) afternoon at the same venue.

Bangladesh Swimming Federation's (BSF) president and Chief of Naval Staff
Admiral M Nazmul Hassan will be the chief guest in the closing ceremony and
distribute the prizes.

BSF's senior vice president and Max Group chairman engineer Golam Mohammad
Alamgir will be present in the closing ceremony as the special guest.

BSF's general secretary MB Saif will preside over the closing ceremony.
