DHAKA, Oct 28, 2023 (BSS)—Bangladesh Women’s team secured the three-match T20 International series against Pakistan with a game to spare when they clinched a 20-run victory in the second match at Zahur Ahmed Chowhdury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday.
Bangladesh won the first match by five wickets at the same venue.
Thanks to a total team game effort, they defended 120-6 by restricting Pakistan Women’s team to 100-7 to clinch their first ever series victory against the subcontinent rivals.
Shorna Akter was the top-scorer for the side with 27 not out while opener Murshida Khatun made 20. Ritu Moni chipped-in-with 19.
Diana Beg was the most successful bowler for Pakistan with 2-34.
For Bangladesh, Nahida Akter (2-15) and Rabeya Khan (2-21) shared four wickets to stifle Pakistan in the chase of a small target. Marufa Akter and Fahima Khatun though took one wicket apiece, they bowled with tight line and length to make the Pakistan’s task difficult.
Bismah Maroof made team-best 30 for Pakistan while Iram Javed scored 15.
The third and final T20 International between the two sides will be held on Sunday at the same venue.
